is yoga? - Yoga is a great feel good practice and a fascinating
science that teaches us how to boost energy levels, feel contented
with others and ourselves and build, strength and stamina as well
as flexibility. Yoga can also be described as a steady control
of the body, senses and mind that has been developed and refined
over thousands of years. Incremental steps are taken on this path.
Physical purity and mental clarity are the initial steps.
The
structure of a yoga class - Yoga classes generally encompass
1 hour of physical posture work, consisting of dynamic and static
postures, stretching, strengthening, toning, massaging, rejuvenating
and relaxing all areas of the body. It should not matter how far
you go into the postures, quality is the imperative and the range
of movement is secondary. Strength and flexibility can come quickly
to you. 15 minutes of pranayama (controlling the breath and mind,
working towards meditation), at the end of the session there are
15 minutes left aside for relaxation.
The Yoga that Becky teaches is generally for all abilities.
Becky teaches both private and drop-in classes, one to one's and runs retreats and workshops.
